This is the breakfast table. It is here that we– Mr. Big Food, our house guest and I– enjoyed our breakfast of “Extra-special Scrambled Eggs” and homemade Pennsylvania Dutch sausage. It was, of course, brighter at the breakfast table this morning than this evening when I took the photo.
You may wonder, What’s so special about Extra-Special Scrambled Eggs? Well, first off (speaking in the vulgar) the recipe calls for monosodium glutamate (don’t fear it). But more special still is the immediate history of the recipe– how a magazine cut out pasted on an index card found in a box in an antique store in Urban Virginia wound up on a Farm table in rural Mississippi
