There are as many reasons to enjoy
crappy old books as there are days in the year. This (poorly photographed, sorry) illustration is from Principles of Economic Zoölogy written back in the crappy olden days when folks still bothered to spell zoology with “ö”. Its title page tells me the book has 301 such beautiful illustrations.
From Principles of Economic Zoölogy by L.S. Daugherty and M.C. Daugherty (1912). Link goes to a paperback “reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work” (at Amazon) but I’ll bet not the high quality paper– which could well be Reason #65.
