We’ve been working very hard the last few days. And we’ve been eating well. Tonight Mr. Big Food made gumbo. He was going to make it in the gumbo pot on the propane cooker on the patio but it rained. Anyhoo… . This gumbo started, of course, with a roux and was made with goose stock. (I think from the Christmas goose.)

As Mr. Big Food was making a roux and whatnot, I was sitting out on the patio and I saw three really big birds flying north to south and one did a U-turn and the others followed and they were honking up a racket and I hollered to Miss M and she brought me her phone and I walked quickly down to the lake.

This is the first time I’d seen Canada Geese on the lake.

Okay. Okay. I then went and read and I see that some of you think Canada Geese are pests. That’s because you are City Mice. Here in the Country, Canada Geese are a strange lot. Honk Honk.

You know what this means, don’t you? Our lake is healthy.
