June 7. I haven’t forgotten Bigfoodetc.com

Since my last post about the crappy old book of the month on the Constitution of the United States, Mr. Big Food and I have traversed a fair number of miles.

I’ve been keeping up with it.

I believe I left off Wednesday evening when we caught some Spanish Mackerel and some Blues. Well, Mr. Big Food caught them for me and I reeled one of them in.

Anyway– from there I had something akin to a religious moment when I realized Sportsman’s Pier was gone.

I almost cried.

I have pictures.

And we did some things around the Atlantic Ocean and then we meandered around and wound up at Hammock’s Beach State Park.

I texted photos.

And it was about here that I realized Kat & Tony are going on vacation!

And then we wandered around the campus of Duke University looking for free parking. Haha found it! And Mr. Big Food said a few words and later we did the math. Haha.

And now everyone wants to know and talk and text about Bear Island and Hong Kong!

And we came home I-40 to Knoxville and then down to Chattanooga which I can now properly spell and then to Birmingham.

We saw a nice little swath of America.

We didn’t even need to disarm on the way home.

FYI: I hate doing that. I hate having to pull over and unload and pack away. It seems to me that the safest firearm is the one that doesn’t need to be handled for any reason other than practice and a last resort. And assuming you’ve practiced, quietly unloading in the parking lot of a rest area or a gas station or fast food place is something you can do quietly. But still. You wish you didn’t have to handle your weapon.

One of the lingering topics from our trip that has engaged everyone is when the big I-40 landslide was.

Mr. Big Food fetched my camera from the backseat, and I do mean ‘seat’– Jordan had a devil of a time getting that chair out of the backseat of the truck– and I prepared to take driving photos. That did not happen. I haven’t had that much fun driving in a long time.

And now we are home. At the Farm.

Oh. And Mom is learning the internet. I am teaching her.
