Let me begin by commenting that we have all received some hilarious text messages from Kat while she and her beloved have been out of the country. She and Tony are back home now. Back in the USofA which has places with good water. Yes. There is a text thread about water.
Which brings me to today. As you may recall, Daughter C loves to go picking dewberries. And so we did. We got a lot of dewberries.
She and Jordan expressed an interest in learning to make jam. And so we did.
In between what you see here and what you are about to see was some seeding of the dewberries. I have a contraption I’ve never really used before and it worked very well. Everyone took a turn at cranking it.
I took photos of what I thought to be important on this momentous day– the day Daughter C made dewberry jam.
Here is Daughter C filling up a quart jar with dewberries and Sure-Jell and sugar that have spent one full minute at a rolling boil and then pulled off the fire at which point Mr. Big Food poured a few tablespoons of Jamaican run into the pot.
Here she’s lowering the rack with the jam jars down into a big pot of boiling water.
And then Miss M came into the kitchen and restored order.
