The excitement over the weather, along with my desire to demonstrate that I was all over potential bad weather situations (which I am) sort of petered out when the bad weather did.
That’s a good thing. It means we can continue to attend to the table(s).
Here’s the situation.
I’ve been reading that things are not going all that well in the World. But what’s a Country Mouse to do? Shure, I can vote. And I can try to introduce some nice young college students to the joys of statistics. I can stomp my feet and shake my fist and say “Stop! all of this idiocy and atrocity isn’t supposed to happen on my watch. Where is the Doctor?” A la Buckley.
But what I would really like to do– and what you all know I would really like to do– is decorate the Farm for Thanksgiving. I’d like to do Stanley Miles proud.
I have one more day to exploit the interaction between Daughter C & Miss M (neither of whom live here any more). And we went shopping at Home Goods in Madison. And I spent fifty whole dollars.
And you see how every dollar fits with our leaf theme, don’t you?
You just wait. You just wait and see how it happens because it will happen. Out of a pile of leaves and pine straw and craft paper and Freds tablecloths and Home Goods mark downs, WESTERN CIVILIZATION WILL PREVAIL.
Aside: Home Goods in Madison was busy today. There were a lot of ladies in there buying things to make their homes comfortable and inviting for the Holidays. One lady had like about $200 worth of decorative pillows. That’s real.
