Mr. Big Food “used more sausage in ratio to the sauce than the recipe called for.” That’s what he said, and having said that, he also said he cut down the recipe.
CRANBERRY SAUCED SAUSAGES
Serves about 16
2 8 oz jars jellied cranberry sauce
2/3 C chili sauce (preferably homemade—see recipes in Basics section)
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp dry mustard
¼ tsp ground allspice
2 5 1/3 oz packages small fully cooked smoked sausage links
Combine cranberry sauce, chili sauce, lemon juice, dry mustard, and allspice in a 3 ½ or 4 quart slow cooker, and stir in smoked sausage links. Cover and cook on high setting for about 2 hours or until heated through. Keep warm on low setting and serve with toothpicks.
