Atlanta sucks.
If you are a real live human being, every thing about Atlanta sucks.
There is no reason on God’s Green Earth that it should take more than 30 minutes to make your way from the north part of I-85 to the west part of I-20 around Atlanta.
Well over an hour.
Unacceptable.
I am going to find a better way.

There is no better way save the bypass and it’s no better. I’ve looked into it.

It didn’t take that long in those days….it was somewhere around 1969 to 1971 or thereabouts. I liked the area – but I have to admit…I didn’t go into the city that often. I suspect the population today is probably about double what it was in those years…!
I still remember the first time going into the “big city” and we had to visit one of the first hotels with an inside “tower”…it was called the “oh mi god” corner. You came inside the front door, walked into the mezzanine and looked straight up bout 20 floors! The whole inside was open, with the walkways around on each floor, and an elevator (also about the first, I think) with an all glass elevator. Not such a big deal these days…but it was a WQW deal at the time!

My first time in Atlanta was ’79 or ’80. It was a very cool city back then. The underground had just opened up. You could still get beef tartar at that huge church-restaurant. … .
Now there are just too many people and the city has lost any pretense of being really Southern. And driving is a freaking nightmare. Last year someone crash landed an airplane on the beltway around the city.
