So I see today– at least this part of today– we are going to talk about being armed. I’ve been thinking about that very thing the last few days. Not because of Pittsburgh, though. Turns out one cannot take a gun on an aeroplane. Nor can a Mississippi concealed carry permit holder legally carry a gun in 17 states or the District of Columbia. This of course is bull hockey but it is what it is.
Aside– perhaps more distressing is that I will not have a knife in my pocket for many many hours. My knife is an appendage. I pulled my knife out two or three times at the tailgate and I know Mr. Big Food did, too. Handy little gadgets.

My husband has lost a couple of knives while boarding planes. He likes the small (maybe 3″) Swiss Army knives. Small makes no difference.
It has occurred to me that an interesting business possibility might be opening a stand that is connected to the inspection lines at the airport, and if there is something they want to confiscate, you have a box/envelope ready to ship whatever to the person’s home address or wherever. They have to pay for the shipping plus something for the business…but if you have a favorite whatever, it might be worth it. Or not…who knows!
On the other hand…shipping has become so expensive…maybe that’s an unrealistic idea!
Have you ever heard/read anything about what happens to all the stuff they confiscate??
