CHICKEN WINGS I
Makes 4 dozen
Ingredients
- 24 chicken wings each separated into sections, wing tips discarded (48 sections)
- 6 Tbsp butter melted
- 10-11 oz Italian-style bread crumbs preferably homemade—see recipes in Basics section
- ¾ C shredded Parmesan cheese
- 3 Tbsp chopped parsley
- 3 tsp garlic salt
- 1 ½ tsp pepper
- ¼ to ½ tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350o. Dip wing pieces in melted butter. Roll in mixture of bread crumbs, cheese, parsley, garlic salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, coating well, and arrange wing pieces in oblong baking pan. Pour remaining butter over chicken, and bake about 40 minutes or until wings are tender, not turning wings. Baste wings often with drippings while baking. Serve hot.
Chicken wings in California are outrageously expensive – for what they are. They were about half price in OK when I visited my daughter. I’d consider it there – here…not so much! Looks like a good recipe, though.
When you clip the tip section…do you use them for soup/broth??
As far as I know, wing tips are not something John saves– which is surprising b/c as you know he saves *everything*!
And yeah– we were talking about the price of wings the other day. Stupid. He gets them on sale and puts them in the deep freezer. Our grocery bill would be a lot higher if we didn’t have a deep freeze.
