Good morning, Dear Readers (with a special shout out to fellow dog lover, Steve)!

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful day here on Farther Along Farm. This morning Missy, Rocky & I did something different– we trucked down to the Pond Pasture. And when I say “trucked,” I mean that the dogs and I piled into the truck and trucked down to the Pond Pasture. For years, this was our go-to morning walk location, but with the introduction of the sheep herd into the Pond Pasture last Spring, we’d fallen out of the habit in favor of the North Pasture, The Shooting Range, and the Peninsula. When the herd was carted off… well, habits being what they are… .

Today we returned. The dogs ran off to investigate the sheep shed, and I moseyed down to the pond and watched a couple of ducks float along until Missy ran up and scared them off. I’ve said it before, and I’m bound to say it again, but if you don’t have an out of doors place in your life to where you can go and just wander around, listen to the birds, and breathe a few lungfuls of fresh air, you’re life is seriously deficient and in need of change.

[Yes– that is me commenting on the quality of your life and as you know, I do not care for folks to lecture others. But in this case, I can reasonably argue that your life would be better if you’d get outside more and wonder at Mother Nature’s handiwork. And I can also ask that you give it a try!]

Back to the Pond Pasture. Those not so stupid as I’d first thought sheep who live in the adjacent Overgrown Pasture actually come when they’re called. It’s hilarious. I’d have video if Google would finish processing so I could download and edit it. What does that mean, by the way? It’s processed well enough for me to watch three minutes of what’s happening inside my pocket before I realized I’d hit the wrong stupid combination of buttons on my phone. At 3:06 I can see the sheep running toward me and then stop dead in their tracks when they see Missy. So what’s left to process?

Should have taken my real regular camera. Next time I will. That’ll show Google who’s boss.
