More than a quarter of an inch so far and Missy is not happy about it. Missy’s self conception is that of a free spirit of a certain sort. But truth be told, she’s a creature of habit. It’s well past time for the morning run and she has a lot of pent up energy.
Rocky, on the other hand, has resigned himself to reading some Sherlock and dozing off on the futon.
Sixteen lightening strikes so far this morning, the most recent three miles away. You may, as I did yesterday, wonder how my personal weather station detects lightening.
The lightning detector system uses a radio that listens for lightning at 500 KHz, it listens for a particular radio signal pattern.https://support.acurite.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010936494-How-Does-the-Lightning-Detector-Work-
[t]he system does utilize filters to isolate and reduce as many errors as possible, but some “erroneous” signals will still get through. If the filter system is made to be more robust and more discriminating, it will also be less sensitive to lightning and may not pick up the small distance strikes.
So it’s a trade off. I like the use of the term “robust.” That’s a stats term.
