We begin with too much zucchini of Mr. Big Food’s least favorite variety. We then consult The Big Food Manual and Survivalist Flourishing Guide for Zucchini bread recipes. After some calculation, Mr. Big Food thinks we’ll have enough zucchini for four recipes, each doubled– so somewhere on the order of 16 loaves.
Not shown, a quick trip to the DG to get tin loaf pans.
Doing a batch at a time (constrained by mixing bowl size). Within one go-’round, we had it down. This should come as no surprise– we’ve had some experience in mass producing food stuffs.
There was one almost glitch. Each batch of takes about an hour to bake. we can get a batch of three to four loaves made in far less than an hour. No one wanted to spend five whole entire hours or more baking zucchini bread.
Fortunately, there is a Department of Redundancy Department here on the Farm. We have more than one oven. There’s a batch baking away up in the apartment as I type.
- one batch of four cooling in the Bunkhouse;
- one batch of four in the oven;
- one of three in the apartment oven;
- one of four waiting to go in.
Time spent? Less than three hours.
