I happened to watch the weather forecast on the television set with Mr. Big Food this morning. I kid you not, Joel said something like, “It’s July in Mississippi. You already know what I’m going to say.” And sure enough, we did. Hot. Humid. Heat Index over 100.
The news is there’s a low pressure system sort of organizing over Georgia– a rare event, systems seldom organize over land. Could move out into the Gulf. I’ll do some research and report back.
Meanwhile. Every single tomato is gone. Damned deer broke through the fishing line. Time for the big guns.

Any possibility of picking up some started tomato plants – you might get a late crop… But then…those deer are still out there…

The plants are by-& -large fine. A few nibbles here and there. Loads of flowers. Just no tomatoes.
Really ticks me off. It’s fenced in and we’d put fishing line around too. Broke right through. Even had the yard guard high frequency thing running last night. Guess I didn’t have it positioned correctly.
I’ll stop at the feed store and get some really putrid smelling stuff to spray this evening. And I’m going to set up the IR motion camera so I’ll know just who and when it its.
Even though about putting Missy in there overnight!
