By the way… When I make pumpkin pie, I use canned pumpkin but substitute half of the white sugar with brown sugar. Not a big difference, but it does make a difference.Loading...I’m serious. Warm with a splash of heavy cream!Loading...Well…Fall time _is_ apple time!Here in California, fall time is also persimmon time. I planted a tree about 10 years ago because my husband really like persimmons. Dried them but decided instead to mush and freeze them for cookies. So he either eats them fresh or we have cookies. Well. You’ve probably heard about the winds we’ve been having. They’re an annual event and aggravate wildfires – which is why you may have heard about them. Fortunately for us, we didn’t have much of any damage – except for the persimmon tree. I had planned on having it pruned this winter, but the wind started the job for me. Knocked down a major branch. Ah well. Pruning is getting started early, I guess. If that’s the worst damage we have, we’ll be in good shape.Loading... Comments are closed.
