Not to sound all school marmy but when one is presented with a comparison– and obviously one intended to present one of the subjects of that comparison unfavorably– one must ask, “How is this even f*^#ing relevant?”

Iceland? Because The United States of America are so very much like Iceland in all meaning ways.

The population of Iceland is 364,000 souls. The combined population of the United States is 328, 239,000. The US have 901 times more folk than Iceland.

Ten percent of Iceland’s population is 36,400 people. Zero point six percent of the US population is ~1,969,400. The US have tested 54 times more people than Iceland.

The land area of Iceland is 39,600 mi². The combined land area of the US is 3,531,900 mi². That’s 89 times as large as Iceland.

My point is not to talk about the scope of testing in any given country. (With a population roughly the size of Montgomery, Alabama, Iceland has established “Priority Groups.”) My point is WTF? Have you been tested? If I showed up at a testing center I would politely be asked to leave, even if I were an Icelander in Iceland.

This is an utterly useless comparison.

Also. Why is it “10%” and “around 0.6%”?
