¾ C flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ C sugar
½ tsp salt
1 Tbsp corn meal
½ C non-fat dry milk powder
2½ C onion, chopped
1 C cold water
Hot oil or melted shortening (for frying patties)
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, corn meal, and dry milk powder, and stir in enough cold water to make a stiff batter. Stir in onions. Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil or melted shortening, flatten patties slightly as they are turned, and fry until golden brown.
Easy enough to do on the Flat-Top grill rather than in a pan of hot oil.
