The card says, “Aren’t you glad you have a daughter with her own private library?”
It will come as no surprise that my 84 year old mom is missing her local library. She loves to read. Yesterday she was lamenting the fact that she was reduced to re-reading things in her own private library which is not quite as (cough) large as mine, but pretty nice. So I sent her a few things– including the pamphlet from the First Romanian School. She’ll love that– she’s a serious European History buff.
So I discovered something. The United States Post Office will give you– like deliver to your door– flat rate boxes for free! The limit, I think, is 70 pounds. Different sizes have different shipping rates. This is a medium flat rate and it will cost about $15 to ship. There’s a collection– My Book House— of 12 volumes that I may send to our grandson, as soon as I clear it with Miss M. It’s a shelf space thing.
