Late night snack

CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE I

  • 2 sticks butter (softened)
  • ½ C shortening
  • 3 C sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 C flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 5 Tbsp dry unsweetened cocoa
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 C milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  1. Preheat oven to 300o. Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar, and add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa, and add to butter mixture alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan and bake 1 ½ hours.
