“Hey, Marica. What are you up … I mean, to what are you… whatcha doin’?”

“ruff?”

“Well, Missy, I heard from two of my faithful readers that… .”

“TWO!?! You have TWO!?! readers, Marica! That’s so awesome!! Two people are reading your blog!! Oh! MY! Congratulations!!!”

“ruff.”

“Thanks, Missy. You know, you could get the dogs in the ‘hood to read my blog. You could post on your facebook page.”

“I know I could but I don’t like to mix facebook business with pleasure.”

“ruff???”

“But back to business. Whatcha doing in response to your faithful readers?”

“ruff?”

“Well, Missy, as I said, two of my faithful readers have let me know through the grapevine that my recounting of our conversations is confusing. They lose track of who’s saying what.”

“RUFF????”

“No, Rock. Everyone knows what you have to say. Your limited vocabulary is an asset in this regard.”

“I see. So folks confuse you and I?”

“Exactly.”

“I fail to see the problem.”

“I am in agreement. But I need to be responsive to my reader(s).”

“What’s to be done?”

“ruff?”

“One suggestion was to distinguish dialog by using different font/emphasis/color… .”

“I COULD BE PINK!!! PInk is such an excellent color! Oh! My! Goodness! You could capture everything I say in PINK for posterity!“

“rrrruuuuuuffffffuuuufffuuuffuuuff!!!!!”

“Dear Friend, I do not see what’s so funny.”

“Well. Missy. If you want to be pink, who am I to argue with you? It is– last I checked– still a Free Country.”
