Made an old stand-by Summer favorite yesterday, Salad Nicoise and Dilly Casserole Bread. Very refreshing, and I’m anxious for lunch to enjoy it again.
Gotten a few more crappy old books in the last little while. The Life of John Marshall is quite unlike what I expected. I’ve already skimmed the analytic TOC. (Not sure that’s the correct term. Will research.)
Not really a fan of his–Marbury v. Madison and all. I’m in good company; TJ wasn’t a fan either.
Have I mentioned before that this particular Kalevala is in Finnish?
We could talk about the weather, but I feel as if we should save that for later on in the week.
I re-read C.S. Lewis’s The Abolition of Man on the flight over, and made a lot of margin notes. (Have I talked about this before?) I am now transcribing my notes into one of my commonplace books. There’s a lot to say, especially about the third and final chapter. For now–if it’s been a while since you’ve read it, strongly recommend you do again, and the sooner the better.
