Mr. big Food fervently hopes we are shortly returning to grilling weather. Me, too. I enjoy sitting out on the patio and listening to music while he grills.

So how about some fun recipes for the grill this week? This one would be great with the kids or grandkids.

For those unfamiliar with popping real popcorn over heat, corn is popped when you don’t hear it popping anymore.

HOBO POPCORN

Makes 4 servings

4 tsp cooking oil
¼ c popcorn
Heavy-duty foil, cut into an 18-inch square, then cut into 4 squares

Prepare hot charcoal or hardwood fire. Place 1 tsp oil in center of each foil square and top with 1 Tbsp popcorn. Bring the 4 corners of each foil square to center, making a pouch, seal edges well, allowing room for expansion of popcorn during cooking. With string tie each pouch to a long-handled barbecue tool or long stick, and place squares directly into hot coals, shaking constantly until corn is popped.
